Códice Botánico is a guayabera made from 100% linen, where dyeing tradition and textile art converge to create a unique piece.
The fabric has been hand-dyed using a combination of marigold and natural indigo. The encounter between the golden hues of marigold and the deep blues of indigo gives rise to a vibrant and organic green, impossible to reproduce identically, reflecting nature's chromatic richness.
The embroideries have been crafted with threads individually dyed with indigo, cochineal, and walnut husk, creating a dialogue of colors that represents the union of sky, earth, and life. The blues of indigo evoke depth and wisdom; the reddish tones of cochineal symbolize energy and transformation; while the warm nuances of walnut recall the strength and stability of the earth.
Every stage of the process has been carried out by hand, respecting the extraction, dyeing, and fixing times of each natural pigment. The result is an unrepeatable piece that holds the memory of the plants, insects, and hands that participated in its creation.
